Error when trying to install IPO admin suite 1

I am trying to install the 8_0_16 admin suite and it is choking for some reason and is giving me the error below. I had 7_0_5 on it with no trouble. I brought down 7_0_27 to upgrade an IPO I have on my bench for an install this week. The upgrade went fine. Manager was working just fine. For grins and giggles I was going to go ahead and download 8_0_16 which I did from Avaya.com and it seemed to download fine. When I went to install the admin suite.exe I got the following error. Now I cannot get into Manager at all. I tried running 7_0_27 admin suite again just to get back running and it gave the exact same error just with 7_0_27 in it.


Error1311.source file not found: C:documents and settings\theG\local setting\temp\temporary directory 1 for
admin 8_9_16.zip\admin 8_0_16\LVMSound.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

Please help! I now have no Manager and the install is this weekend. The phone system itself seems to be just fine. Everything is working fine. It's just now that I was trying to up grade Manager that it threw this error and now I am stuck.

It looks like the download is corrupt.
Try a new download and remove all Avaya software before you do a new install.

I did. I went in my add/remove program files and nothing was there. I deleted the 8.0 file I had made. Emptied the trash and rebooted my laptop.
Then went back to Avaya.com and redownloaded 8_0_16. It took the usual 2 + hours. I unzipped everything to a new 8.0 file I made to put everything in. I went in and ran the Admin Suite and ran into that error again.

OH! Wait.... is Remove.net a website that will help me remove all previous versions of Manager?

I'm sorry, I am not really well versed in Microsoft anything. How do I remove and reinstall the .net?
I hit the link you included and it took me to a website and I am not sure where to go.....I see "download .net 4".
I am not trying to be deliberately obtuse. I've usually got someone with more data experience around. But it's just me right now.

You can remove the .net by opening your Windows Control Panel and using Add/Remove Programs. According to the R8 install docs, the install wizard will prompt you to install .net if it doesn't find it on your PC, but you can download it separately from MS with the link provided. Good Luck!

It's not .Net. I had the same issue with the download of 8.0.16. What happened is it only 75% of the way unzipped. Rather than complete, it just crashes. What I did was to manually unzip the folders that got left out. Just do them one at a time and pont the extract to the root of the unzipped folder.

pmcook- That sounds right with the error she is getting. What winzip and OS was that with?

same deal here with same error message.... when i unzipped the file properly it installed no problem

Windows XP, the exe is a self extracting archive, double clicking on it will unzip to a new folder, and then you can run the setup.

On Windows 7, the exe looks like a compressed folder, and you can click on it to see the contents, but it is not yet extracted. Right click on the download, and select uncompress, which will create a new folder. Then, click on setup in the new folder.

I never had issues with bad upzipping.
I use winrar or the Windows unzip tool when i don't have winrar.
