Hi,
A local Primary school i help out at has been having a lot of trouble accessing the internet. They have:
NT4
Microsoft Proxy 2.0
Intel Router
ISDN Line
The proxy is/was completely broken, when I open Microsoft Management Console it says it can't connect to Classlink (the proxy name, and name of server) due to invaid data. I use connect to force it too, it says it can't start then connects showing three services, the only running one is winsocks I think. You can't start or even look at the properties of the socks or web rpoxy due to "invalid data"
I have tried manually uninstalling Microsoft Proxy and then reinstalling it - but when it gets to the end of the install it says W3svc could not be started and then the installation has failed.
What do I do next!? I'm stumped and very frustrated.
thanks for your help,
Doug McMahon
btw with the browser set to use the gateway address I can get a ping from google and other sites, resolve there addresses but the sites won't load.
