error retrieving image 17547382 method~of object~failed

Attempting open an image attached to an e-mail and recieved the above error. I know this error has been covered before and extensively but I have not been able to find anything pertaining to my specific issue. This is on a w2k machine.
Any help will as always be appreciated.
