I have a 2610XM that boots fine w/o the T1 WIC. When I install the WIC, I get the following message:

"Uknown WIC in slot(0/1), WIC has an unknown ID of 0x52"

"00:00:10: %SYS-2-GETBUF: Bad getbuffer, bytes= 68444513
-Process= "Init", ipl= 0, pid= 2
-Traceback= 80378168 8081667C 80816568 8041BBC4 8041BDC0 8041C0B8 803142EC 803E9
1C4"

The card is 1DSU-T1 V2; I thought the XM series supported the V.2 WIC?

I have several v.2 WIC cards, and they all produce the same result.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Tom

You are right about the 2610XM supporting that WIC but

What IOS are you running and what type of NM do you have installed in your router? Will the 1DSU-T1 V2 be supported in that network module?

According to this site
the WIC-1DSU-T1 is only supported on the following network modules:

NM-2W
NM-1FE2W
NM-1FE2W-V2
NM-2FE2W
NM-2FE2W-V2
NM-1FE1R2W
NM-1FE1R2W-V2

But then on this site
Only the NM-2W is supported on the 2600XM series.

I would start looking to first make sure your network module is supported with that card and that series router.

Hope this can at least get started looking in the right direction!

Thanks for all the info on NM's, but it's just giong into the "W0" slot. I have never run into this problem before.

Its the W0 of what type of module? Is it a NM-2W? It will be on your module..thats what i was asking...

Can you paste a copy of the output from the 'show version' and 'show diagnostics' command.

Cheers.

I'll post the diag a little later.

Here's the sh diag, (notice the unknown WAN daughter card). I think what I need here is an IOS upgrade.

I ran your setup through Cisco's Bug Toolkit and couldn't find anything exact that matches your situation. Closest match was a memory leak on 2600XM's for the 1DSU-T1-V2 module.

I agree with you on this and I would consider an IOS upgrade also to a mainline release like 12.3 or 12.4.

Thanks for the help guys! I'll upgrade to .3 or .4 as KiscoKid suggested.
