I am using an Access 97 mdb as user interface for an Oracle DB. The mdb is protected: I created an application specific .mdw-file for this purpose.

Now I want to create an .mde-file. Here comes the problem: a user receives an error message directly after the Access login window:

"Data cannot be read - no read access to MSysModules2".

But I cannot believe this. When I login with my admin account, then read (and update) access to this system table is granted to a user group "Everybody", where everybody belongs to.

Who has some tip for me ?

Hayo,

this seems to be specific to all MDE databases in A97 where you use FE/BE.
You need to allow all your users full data-access (I mean read, append, update and delete) to the table MSysModules2 in the MDE-file.
That is sufficient in my case.

Thanks, Alex !

The mde-file works after extending the access to MSysModules2.
