Hello,

I have a colleague whose PC boots with an error message:

RUNDLL
Error Loading C:\windows\simpborl.dll

Anyone know what this is?

Thanks

I vote with linney, it is likely malware.

. do a Search for the file. When found, right-click and see if the Version information can help as to the program authorship;

. AutoRuns would allow some information about any startup entry. Download, extract and run the program from a new folder to hold its data files. Select View, and enable all options. Now see where the entry of the C:\windows\simpborl.dll is being made in startup. You can uncheck to disable the startup entry:
. The manual steps in faq608-4650 would help. Or as a fast check, use my antispyware free trial of the month pic: Giant antispyware:
Update the definitions and let it do a system scan and repair.
