I am trying to out a TN and then re-create it as a IP phone. I have done this with about five other numbers without any problem. The error I receive is SCH0120 which is "Wrong number of input fields to DSL or TN prompt". Below is information about the phone I am trying to out if someone could please provide some troubleshooting steps:

Trying to out the line as follows:

PT0000
REQ: OUT
TYPE: 3904
TN 056 1 03 00
SCH0120
TN

Results in the SCH0120 error. I do not see anything on this line that is different from other lines that I have outed. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Try typing the TN as 56 1 3 0 with single spaces between the numbers.

That did it! Thank you! I had not had to do that with other TNs we outed. The error message was not obvious either. After using 56 1 3 0 it outed as expected. Thank you again! If you can explain why it would not take 056 1 03 00 and instead had to be entered as 56 1 3 0, I would appreciate the information.

John

For some things there is simply no explanation. One GK instructor teaching us about the inconsistencies between LD's (like defaults for example - some you can enter through CUST, (default 0) and others you can't... )

When asked why things were different, odd, or just plain crazy when it came to Nortel; he had a simple answer:
he would shrug, and say "Canadians on Crack!" as his explanation of the Nortel Programmers.

So that's it - "Canadians on Crack".....there's your explanation....

(no offense to those Canadians or those Canadians NOT on crack.....)

Understood.... The software we use to program our switch (RSI MerAssistant) is also created by those up North. Works most of the time and then other times it freaks out when the switch replies back with something it is not expecting.

Thanks all!

That's why its best to utilize scripts in Procomm or ZOC. If it doesn't work, is because you did it correctly and not someone Else's programming that is much harder to find the error.
