Hello Guys/Gals

I have a slight problem where a number of our PC 's have been getting the following error in startup:
The procedure entry point _resetstkoflw could not be located in the dynamic link library Msvcrt.dll.
You click Ok and carry on as normal, i cant find a great deal of info on this have found article 324762, but just wanted to know if there is an easier way of resolving the issue as i dont wanna go around 15 PC's with the recovery disk.

Thanks in advance.

Well if you have remote access to the pc's you might be able to copy a functional/correct Msvcrt.dll file to each pc saving you from going around with the cd.

I would use the default c$ share and then just paste it into the system32 folder.

LINNEY yeah had a look at that article, just wondered if there as an easier way. I have replaced the .Dll with one from a PC which is not getting the error message but still no joy. Bit of a strange one really.

Just a couple of ideas to try.

See where any other versions of Msvcrt.dll are located on the faulty machines, maybe there is something in the single files in the actual C:/Windows folder.

Perhaps unregistering the Msvcrt.dll and then reregistering it with the RegSvr32 command will help?

Maybe you have run foul of Windows File Protection and have not actually replaced Msvcrt.dll and it may be getting a bad version from the System32/DllCache folder?

using the "admin$" share instead of c$ will get you one step closer, as that puts you in the windows directory.
