Hello,
display error show me an ISDN-Trunk error: Type error->256; Error Code->1116. The outgoing calls are asociated by trunk n.16 and the error is for that trunk. Could be that error a cause for that hunged calls??

Thanks.
Dani

Does not seam that harmful;
This is the error :

256
Service State Audit
These trunks may be in one of several service states. This test performs a Service State Audit with the far-end switch. For interfaces using country protocol 1 (including US), the Service State Audit executes in all trunk service states. A message is sent to the far-end switch to ensure that both sides agree on the service state. A PASS for this test simply means that the message has been successfully sent. Two minutes are allowed for a reply. If no reply is received within that 2 minute window, the message is sent out again. If that attempt fails, an error is logged (Error Type 3073) and the switch then attempts another Service State Audit every 15 minutes. If the trunk was initially INS (in-service), it is then placed in the MTC/FE (maintenance state, far-end problem) state. No outgoing calls are placed over this trunk, but incoming calls are accepted. If an incoming call is presented while in such a state, a Service State Audit attempt is immediately attempted (that is, the switch does not wait for the 15-minute cycle, but tries to recover immediately). For interfaces not using country protocol 1, the Service State Audit executes only if the trunk is in the OOF/FE state. A message is sent to the far-end switch to attempt to bring the trunk back into the in-service state. A PASS for this test simply means that the message has been successfully sent. Two minutes are allowed for a reply. If no reply is received within that two minute window, the message is sent out once again. If no response is received in the next two minute window, then the trunk remains in the OOS/FE state. The switch will attempt another Service State Audit in another hour.

1116 ABORT The trunk is not in a service state which is appropriate for running the test. This test is only performed in the OOS/FE state.

Hope this is helpful

Hi Rob,
I am new in DEFINITY systems and this text, extracted from DEFINITY ECS Release 8.2 Maintenance for R8r 555-233-117, is a little advanced for me. Resum: Could be that error a cause for that hunged calls?? (Yes or not, please).

Thanks for your help.

In Holland we disable test 256 when using ISDN-bri and TN2185 boards.

It has something to do with sync.

Are you using BRI? Plan your work............Work your plan

Whe are using ISDN-bri. Is that a reason the calls are hunged???

Thanks.

Dani.

Could very much be the case. Do "disable test-number 256" in the Definity and see what happens.

You can always enable it when it doesn't fix your problem.

Plan your work............Work your plan

Ok Brandaris,
I disable that test and then see what happens.

Thanks and regards

Other question:
Why test 256 can be incompatible whit ISDN-BRI? Does the test collapse the trunk?

Thanks.
dmb

OK, I'm all wrong.

The test I'm talking about is 257.

But can you do a "test board aabcc" and let me know what comes out.

Plan your work............Work your plan

Sorry Brandaris,
But i don't understand why test board. The board is correct. The problem is that in display error appear the error #256; error:1116 ISDN-TRK Result: abort and it is a warning. The trunk is 16 (assigned for outcoming calls). The outgoing calls are cleared. Could be this error a cause for that calls cleared??

thanks.

When you do a test board, this test (256) and others (1251 and 257) will also run.

The book says that this error can have something to do with sync. (test 1251)

So if you do a test board, all the tests are done and we can see what the problem is.

So if you put the results up here, we can take a look. Plan your work............Work your plan

Ok,
I'm waiting for that information. When I get it I will put here.
Thanks again
