Error in Crystal Report 9

I am using Crystal Reports 9 with a 3rd party Medical Record software program and can not figure out how to resolve the below error. This error occurs often but intermittently on wireless tablets(windows tablet)when trying to generating a crystal report

Error: Error in file \\NextGen\NextGenEMR\NGEMRProd\Reports\rxprint.rpt
Failed to open a rowset.
Error Number: 723

My thought is that how can there be a issue with the actual report if the error is intermittent and after restarting my 3rd party software, the report may generate fine...?

Any Help is greatly appreciated!

I've seen the same problems using Crystal 10 but don't think it is related to NextGen's software (I work for e-MDs, a NextGen competitor!). I'm not sure if this is the cause, but I think that it is a printer configuration issue which would explain the intermittent operation. It seems that the printer set for the report sometimes does "see" the printer, particularly if it is on a network print server. Rebooting appears to work for us, or I've also found that sending a print job from another app such as Word seems to "unlock" the pathway.
 
we have just gone through wasted weeks trying to figure this one out too (with cr10) Are you using NT? Update your ODBC driver!
