Error creating the OLE object

In VFP 6, I have always had an intermittent "Error creating the OLE object" error during the "Registering COM component" part of creating an .exe file from a project, especially after testing the same project as an .app.

I have previously been able to get rid of that error and compile my programs by closing VFP and re-opening it. Now that's not helping, nor is shutting down my PC or starting it in safe mode. I can no longer create .exe files. I'm wondering whether an errant file is causing problems. Can anybody help?

Just to correct this posting, I CAN create .exes in other directories...

I've managed to resolve this issue. It appears that at some stage I managed to copy a vcx file to a different part of the project, and having the vcx file in two places caused the errir.
