i have check the user profile and the users has that check to allow him to logon to terminal server as well has the security policy set to allow him to enter, but when a regular users try to get in i get an error that says this:

"You do not have access to logon to this session"

and on the server log i see this error

"Failed to load Terminal Server Profile path. Note that the profile path must be less than 256 characters in length. User Name: <user> Domain: <mydomain>"

Source: Winlogon
Event ID: 1218

pls i need help on this

thank you very much.

I am not wared "Failed to load Terminal Server Profile path" error. Here are general troubleshooting tips for event id 1218. quoted form
Event ID 1218 - You do not have access to logon to this Session.
1. Windows 2000 domain controllers running Terminal Services configured to use Remote Administration mode do not permit regular user logon, with the exception of two concurrent administrator accounts for server management. When a user attempts to connect to a Windows 2000-based domain controller running Terminal Services configured to use Remote Administration mode, the following error message is generated: You do not have access to logon to this Session.
2. Windows 2003 domain controllers running RDC do not permit regular user logon, with the exception of administrator accounts.
3. The user attempting to log on does not have sufficient permissions on the appropriate RDP-TCP connection. Modify the RDP-TCP permissions by using Terminal Services Configuration to grant the user or group the logon permission.
4. Terminal Services has a default connection security setting allows only administrators to log on. If the security attributes on a specified connection have not been set, the connection inherits these default security settings.

I have the same problem ... Have you found a solution to it ?
Thanks.

You probaly need to change your secure settings for your ICA-connection.

Open the "Citrix Connection Configuration", mark your Connection Protokol, clik on security on the top, try to set Everyone to have access, then you can always downgrade by time ...

I had the same issue on a Win2003 domain controller. I added the users to the built-in group "Remote Desktop Users" and made sure they were added to the Local Security Policy "Allow Logon through Terminal Services". Now they can logon without being an Administrator.
