Postfix, Courier-imap and Squirrelmail have worked fine on Red Hat 9.
But I would like to integrate with clam and amavis-new too.
And I tried to send email from Squirrelmail and got the error message below here :
Error connecting to SMTP Server.
111 : Connection refused
Any ideas to solve it ?
Thanks...:)

is the service running? is the port listening? Can you telnet to the port?

try:

netstat -na | grep 111

telnet <ipaddress> 111

I checked the port listening (port 10024 for Amavis)

The part of /var/log/maillog below here:

Check for inconsistencies in these files:
/var/spool/postfix/etc/services and /etc/services

The postfix service was stable before I configured amavis-new.
And I could not see port 10025 to listening but only port 10024 to listening.

main.cf :
content_filter = smtp:locahost:10024

master.cf :
smtp-amavis unix - - n - 2 smtp -o smtp_data_done_timeout=1200 -o disable_dns_lookups=yes

locahost:10025 inet n - n - - smtpd -o local_recipient_maps= -o relay_recipient_maps= -o smtpd_restriction_classes= -o smtpd_client_restrictions=
-o smtpd_helo_restrictions= -o smtpd_send_restrictions= -o smtpd_recipient_restrictions=permit_mynetworks,reject -o strict_rf821_enveplopes=yes

Any problem with the postfix configuration ?
Thanks

I have compared few docs from internet. But I still got the error message.
Anyone solved this problem before ?

How about post the output of 'netstat -pat' just to see if postfix is actually started and listening?

Also:
Jun 18 00:03:02 host postfix/postfix-script: starting the Postfix mail system
Jun 18 00:03:05 host postfix/master[1661]: panic: mymalloc: requested length 0

Looks like maybe a non-user-running-the-process-writeable file or directory somewhere? The differing services files may be causing some built-in security feature of postfix to abort startup too.

Just a shot in the dark.

I ran postfix as root. And I don't have any problem with postfix before I configured amavis-new.
The postfix, courier Imap and Squirrelmail worked fine.
I took out amavis configuration from postfix. And postfix worked fine without any problem.
I started postfix manually after I configured the amavis.
There is no issue with the postfix but amavis configuration for postfix.
Anyone integrated postfix and amavis-new successfully?
Please Help Me....:)
Thanks

Not sure why, but google led me to this link:
which says:
[tt]
myhostname=mail.yourdomain.com<--- This one is important, make it a name other than the hostname of the machine
content_filter=smtp-amavis:[127.0.0.1]:10024
[/tt]
Note the comment about the hostname, and the usage of the ip address in master.cf. Maybe the process isn't starting due to some hostname wonkiness?

I tried both IP address and hostname. And I got the same error message.Yes, I defined myhostname=host.rh9.org

Thanks, flugh (TechnicalUser)
I solved the problem with the website link from you.
That was something wrong with my transport configuration file.

The transport configuration file should :
domain.com [192.168.1.1]:

I configured transport configuration file before like below here:
domain.com [192.168.1.1]:

That caused the problem.
