Error changing TTY parameters

I am currently in Maintenance mode (AIX 5L) and trying to change a parameter in TTY using SMITTY TTY. I try to add the clocal paramter to the STTY runtime, but after I press enter I get the following error:

/etc/methods/chgtty
File has wrong status.

Any ideas?

You might want to try this first:

From a command line:

pdisable tty??

smit chgtty ( to make the change)

penable tty??


Usually it must be disabled before changes are allowed.
