run sp_configure in the querey window and look at the configured value of "open objects". This is how many 'objects' (tables, indexes, etc..) SQL Server can have open at one time. If it is at the limit it can be prevented from opening any more objects needed to complete a task. I don't really know what a good value is, mine is configured at 20,000 which is a number i reached through trial and error. The other time i have seen that kind of error is if you are running out of data or log space. Ruairi
