I have a Report that has been working well for a long time.

Two other Reports are still working well using the same table in the SQL 7 DB and exactly the same connection in the Data Environment.

The "Offending Report" has started giving "Error 8577 in DataReport - Failed getting Rowset(s) from current Data Source".

I have checked every thing that I can think of. The only source of info I have found is a MSDN White paper on how to set up connection. That is OK.

Any one else experience something like this?

Any ideas?

TIA

-Use a Static recordset cursor.
-Test the recordset independently of the DataEnvironment.

Bound controls like the Data Control or Data Environment (yes - it is also a bound control) make it sometimes difficult to directly trouble shoot problems.

The static recordset cursor made it work one time out of three. Adding a .requery at the end of my Report Initialize Section stabilized it and got it to work every time.

Thank you very much!

TIA
