Error=80040154 (Class not registered) when opening an AVI file

I have a huge AVI file that i downloaded from a friend. It works fine on his machine but on mine, it doesn't. The error was "Class not registered (Error=80040154)". I installed all the codecs that my friend suggested and tried downloading again the file. I did not succeed. What could be wrong?

By the way, am running a Win98SE on a P4 1.7GHz and Windows Media Player 6. Thanks.

What is the difference between you friend's machine and yours? What program is he using to look at the AVI file? Maybe you need Media Player 9
