Error 8 cannot write to target d:

We're trying to upgrade WebSphere, Advanced edition, Single Server with fixpack 3. Currently we are on 4.01. The install went fine. I can copy and move files from all of the directories. I have admin rights on the machine.
BUT - when I try to install the fp3, I get an error message: Cannot write to target d:\WebSphere\AppServer.
The install fails.
I tried to implement fp2, also, to see if it was something odd about fp3. Same issue with fp2.
As I said, I have admin rights, can read, write, delete, whatever.
Is there a problem with running WebSphere from the D: drive instead of C:?

Hi,

As far as I am aware there is no known issue relating to writing to directories from WebSphere. This must be a system admin problem!!
