error 772, "The remote computer's network hardware is incompatible..."

"The remote computer's network hardware is incompatible with the type of call requested." , does anyone know a fix for this problem?

It will connect sometimes, then not connect at all and give this error message.

What are you trying to do, and how?

Is this a dial-up connection to an ISP, a RAS connection to a Windows server, and ethernet connection across a network, a VPN connection using cable?
