I have a strange problem. winlogin.log has started showing the following:

Configure user Rights
...
Configure Power Users
Error 1332: No mapping between account names and security IDs was done
Cannot find Power Users
...

What makes this really odd to me is that we did a fresh install of win2k a couple months ago on this trainer and this error just popped up in the last week. I didn't even think Power Users was in Win2k. When checking under the security tab in the Default Domain Controllers Policy, Power Users is not listed, nor is it listed under add. As this error keeps popping up in the application log every 5 min this is getting somewhat annoying.

somewhere in one of your policies, the Power Users group is buried. You need to open the entire security section and look around (local policies, user rights assignment, etc...)

To solve this problem do the following:
1- open local security policy
2- Click Local Policies , and then click User Rights Assignment .
3-Double-click each item under User Rights Assignments to see whether the item contains the Power Users group. When you find a policy item that contains the Power Users group, click to clear the Power Users check box and then click OK .

Restart the computer and review the Winlogon.log file and Event Viewer to make sure that the error messages no longer occur.

Salah that seems to have gotten it. I didn't think to check down to the individule policy. Thanks for the help!
