Error 1308 (missing topo.pot)

Hi to all!

Running a W98 S/E machine with MSFT Office 2K. Here are the details of the problem:

1)Office was crashing, saying it needs to be installed from the source (it was already installed and working before).

2)When going to reinstall office, went to add/remove programs to uninstall it and notice that there are NO programs listed in the add/remove programs window (VERY odd, never seen this one).

3)Reloaded W98 S/E, still same result.

4)While trying to reinstall Office 2K, the following comes up almost immediately:
"error 1308: c:/program files/microsoft office/templates/presentation designs/topo.pot" missing"

Searched the database here at tektips to no avial. Any ideas on this one? Please respond with online post. Thanks!!

Thanks for the info. I did download it and placed it in the appropriate folder, but to no avail. Wondering if the spyware knocked something off in the registry at this point because the file was there physically, replaced it with the file from the actual install disk as well as trying the downloads from the sites you recommended still to no avail. Any other thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks for your time!!
