MY
Hello guys ,

I have another few questions to ask .

We have invest millions of dollars for Erricsson MD110 ver BC 10. My concern is that, company and industries are eager to experience VOIP technology such as MAX 1, Cisco Avaya and etc... i'm very convenience with normal TDM technology (PABX) due to its quality and reliablility. My questions is that :

1. For How long the MD110 (BC series) PABX will sustain?

2. If i plan to upgrade to MAX-1, is it true that i will no
more longer able to add ELU 28 or ELU 29 extension cards?

3. What is ur experience so far when using this new
technology.

Thanks in advance

MD110 like we know it will be phased out within a few years.
This means that the LPU (processor) will be replaced by an ESU (PC-board), LSU will be replaced by LSU-E and GJUL will be replaced by IPLU. So there goes TDM. all Inter-LIM traffic will be IP-based.
MX-ONE Telephony server is an HP server and will be LIM 1. all other LIMS can be standard housing (stackables) or Media gateway Classic (new 19" rack housing) or an HP server.

to answer your questions :

1) a few years (1-2)
2) Legacy cards are still supported
3) MX-ONE technology is getting better and better
My advice : best experience will be from V3

MXone Ver 1
2006-05-01 New sales order reception stop
2006-09-04 Add-on sales order reception stop
2006-07-01 Active sustaining stop
2006-12-31 Passive sustaining stop / Service stop (Product Termination).

Passive sustaining mean that there is no more correction plan, no new hardware no new services available for the concern release.

2/However, there is a support of Hardware in the follwing releases, ie ELU28/ELU29 are working in all releases from BC10 up to Mxone TSW or MXone Ver2, however, there will be new Hardware with a lot of improvement and better capacity introduced that could replace such board (ELU34 combine ELU29+ELU30+REU and has 31 equipment instead of 16)
This will protect you investment : Ericsson has always stated that there is a backward compatibility with all hardware when upgrading to a new release (combine with proms or Firmware upgrade)

Gess! . Thanks guy ... A very beneficial info for me ..i really appreciate that ... Even my vendor does not have that detailed info.

:)

daddy:

you speak about HP-based Telephony-Server. But what is with Ericssons Compact-Machines, a dedicated hardware which combines server and mediagateway in one device? Should also be possible as Lim1, isn´t it? It is cheaper but which disadvantages are there?

yeah, that is MX-ONE Version 3. This a P4 mobile solution (Like P4), don't know if this is as powerfull as the V2 HP server.
