Err Msg: HTTP/1.1 New Application Failed

Hi - I'm pretty much brand new to ASP, and I'm trying to get an application working. However whenever I try to hit an ASP page on my server I get 'Err Msg: HTTP/1.1 New Application Failed' It doesn't matter what the asp page contains, same error message. Any insights would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance,

If you don't get an answer, try the IIS forum here on Tek-Tips, as it sounds like an IIS configuration problem (IIS isn't starting a new ASP application for some reason).

Yeah I think it is some kind of IIS configuration issue. I'm on win2k/iis5 by the way. I saw the article at indiaaccess.com - it talks about problems with the global.asa file; but I get the problem with an asp page I test even if there's not global.asa. Does anybody have any idea what the configuration issue might be?
