Hello Team.
I copied the configuration from an old IPO500 system at release 5.0 using the offline receive config send config method to a new IPO500V2 release 9_0_12_0_1006 and accepted the configuration with no issue.
on reboot it shows that there is licence is needed for upgrade.
I did not any upgrade i just copied the configuration from system A to system B. How is this possible?
the error i get is ERR: IPOFFICE IS UNUSABLE UNTIL UPGRADE LICENCE IS ADDED.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Nikos

Why in the world would you even do that, should
have left it at the version it came in at?

Is there an essential edition licence as that is needed for 9 but not 5, and I think will then show this alarm you have if it isnt present - which is a bit of a misnomer.

on the 9 system (500V2) i have essential edition from ADI.
if you have a customer config how do you copy this to a new chassis?
configuration should be hardware agnostic.
if i reset the 9 system i can program customer from scratch with no issue but i need to avoid this.
thanks

And the new hardware was definitely new and not an old kit that was upgraded to R9?

It is new not upgraded but used, i used it in the lab for testing so calls have been made on that.
Now i am logged in to the 500v2 chassis i see all programming in place. Connecting with system status tool i see telephony services on IPO have been suspended unti a valid software licence is installed.

I will try to format SD card and import the configuration again.
Which is the correct way to import a customer configuration?

thanks
Nikos

Then it is used and is locked to the level it was used at when testing calls.

Open Manager and do

File-->Advance-->Upgrade

Broadcast for or find the system in question and you will see a licenced and required licence column against the system.

What do they say?

Did this to do the latest SU12 Update prior importing the configuration.
I just formated the card and starting the procedure to create it again.
Customer is live running release 5.0 at old 500 chassis.

The version of manager i am using to create the SD card is 10.1.0.2.0 build 2 , this will create a correct 9_0_12_0_1006 SD card correct?

Nikos

No of course not, it will create a 10.1.0.2.0 SD card, unless you have changed the working directories to a 9.0.12 manager folder.

i can select the folder but this will have only the binaries what about the web management etc?
Do i have to install 9_0_12_0_1006 manager in order to do a correct 9_0_12_0_1006 version card?

Thanks

i installed the 9_0_12_0_1006 manager and creating the card again.
Should i try again to import configuration? or i will have the same luck?
what is the correct procedure to import an existing configuration in the fresh 9_0_12_0_1006 system/card?

thanks

Finished the card installed the card and the system has kept the configuration and has the same behaviour.
I am reseting the chassis to default it.
any ideas?
thanks

after resetting IPO and entering the essential edition i get the same error

ERR: IPOFFICE IS UNUSABLE UNTIL UPGRADE LICENCE IS ADDED
running the upgrade wizard it shows licensed at 8.1 and required licence at 9.0 so this is the issue i believe.
Not sure why this box shows 8.1 but any way to default it and get it to 9.0 without the need of upgrade licence?

thanks

Nikos

If it's been running on 8.1 when the first call was made you need an upgrade license to upgrade it.

great!!
any ideas to reset the first call?

thanks

Nikos

No once the call is made it is locked to that version, buy the license as stated already, you should have left it at version 9

Send the base unit in for repair and Avaya will return it unlocked from a software version.
Buying a upgrade license is cheaper though.

Upgrade them to R11 through Avaya's process. If you have any questions about this, your distributor or Avaya business partner should be able to help with this.

That or buy a new IP500v2 Control Unit to get the 9.0 Essential Edition License to work. Avaya stopped selling Upgrade 8 licenses some time last year.

Get them current, get them IPOSS, and review the upgrade process to get them current.
