Is there a international standard for equipment mounting racks ? Which are those and from where I can get them ? I am searching for mechanical dimension details which i need to follow for the equipment which I am developing to meet the standards.

TIA.org will have that info. Yes there is a standard, read any reputable manufacturers catalog and you will see ANSI/EIA/TIA compliant racks.

I beleive that the EIA 310D may be the standard which you seek. It deals with rack unit spacing
