Epson Stylus and XP slow printing Problem...

Has anyone had any difficulties with the Epson Stylus 1520 and XP causing an EXTREEME slow down in print speed. THe printer is slow enough as it is, but now it is printing a page about 15 minutes. Before it was easily 1 full page at about 5 minutes or so. Any suggestions. Any possible XP issues I am missing. I am going to hook a 98se box to it and see if it has any better performance. It might be coincidence. We just upgraded to a new machine 1800+XP with XP Pro. THe printing has been a little weird since the conversion. It might just be a glitch. I checked all the bios settings. Running 512MB of DDR, can't see why we are getting performance issues. Any thoughts.....

I have had this problem before on a win98 box, I am going to look at some job doco and i'll get back to ya if I find it, I think it had to do with virus scan (mcafee) scaning all files ...... I can't remember
