Hello, we have a Quark 6 document that is 15 pages long of plain Times text. There is one image that is an Illustrator CS EPS file. When you view the image through Quark all appears fine, when you print to Postscript and preview the postscript the image appears fine, but when you create a PDF from the postscript the text in the image changes. We also have another similar problem cccasionally when the PDF is created, the contents of an anchored box has disappeared - not all anchored boxes, just an occasional one. When I PDFd the whole file i lose a heading in an anchored box, but if I PDFd the page on its own, the heading in the anchored box appeared fine. This is a problem we have only started suffering recently and are unsure as to why. The machine and software specs are as follows. G5 Dual 1.8 / 1gb / OSX Panther / Acrobat 6 / Quark 6.5 Both problems occur individually of each other and have done acorss a selection of documents, whilst we have not had the image problem on another document we have had the missing anchored text boxes. I have tried PDF the document on different versions of Acrobat on different machiens and platforms, it definatly seems to be something from Quark that causes the error as the same problems always occurs. PLEASE HELP!!

On the eps file: If you have to get this job done, you can open the eps in Illustrator, select the text box and, on Type menu, Create Outlines. Then export a new eps. Another thing to remember with Q 6.5 is export eps a legacy eps via the Export command in ILL. If you use compatable with Ill 9, things should be better.

Your other problem is kind of hard to understand. If you're printing a postscript file for distilling, make sure you go through all the settings on the print postscript window, especially checking the PPD.

You might try a direct pdf export from Q and see how that works.
