ePo 2.5.1 vs ePo 3.0.1

Hi all,
I have set up my network, 250 win2k clients, with epo 2.5.1 and VirusScan Enterprise 7.1.
Everything works fine, and this is already a great result , but I was thing to upgrade ePo to 3.0.1.
I have seen within these pages talking about problems with ePo 3.0.2 so that I am not going on it, but I'd like to have your opinions on 3.0.1 release as well as any other suggestions you may consider important about the way of doing the upgrade.

I was running ePO 2.5, upgrading didn't succeed, I had to reinstall from scratch with 3.1 and then SP2 and SP2a

but still have issues with reports (case open)

my experience

communication with agent works better
DAT upgrade works better
reports doesn't work

We have noticed a problem where EPO has stoped working. The only way to fix it is to install the new version ontop of the old one.

We have just recently updated from version 2.5 to the new 3 and at first we had a version 3.0.x which caused a lot of problems on the workstations. When trying to update the dat files it failed but FrameWorkService.ext was using more and more CPU power eventually sitting at 100% making the pc unusable. Another problem we found was that the agent didn't update VirusScan it just failed.

What we had to was to reinstall the agent, which updated the files ok and it started working again.

We used Languard to push the software to the workstations that had the problem. But any push software should work ok.

You have to use the following command switches or it will not work.

FRAMEPKG.EXE /FORCEINSTALL /INSTALL=AGENT /SILENT

Virus Scan version 7.1 does not work very well with epo version 2.5 and I wouldn't recommend it. Its more hassle and problems that its worth.
