Hi...just upgraded to windows XP Professional. Have loaded on VB6 / SP5 (latest ADO) on fine, but XP won't let me install SQL Enterprise Manager. It keeps saying that a previous program has got pending operations - you must restart before installation. Unfortunately, restarting doesn't help & I've checked for pending operations in computer management as the windows XP help suggested, but no sign of operations there. Any ideas?

Many thanks

Phil.

There was a problem in both Win NT and Windows 2000 that was cauased by a registry entry. I assume the same problem may exist in Win XP. Check the following article.

Wonderful! Thank you very much. The only hitch I had was that the article said remove a particular key, but then the key re-appeared on re-booting. I removed the key & installed Enterprise Manager without re-booting & it installed ok. Now I need to scour Tek-Tips to sort out the SSPI context problem!

Thanks again

Phil.
