I just bought a IBM PC 300GL computer off of a friend to add to my network. He had just formatted the drive trying to be nice to clean all of his junk off of it but now I cant install the OS. I have a Windows boot disk but when I put that in nothing happens...I would like to try and have it first check the CD-ROM first as I have the OS cd in the drive but unfortunatly nothing happens with that either. Could any people out there give an idea how to change this?

Upon startup press either DELETE key or F2 key to enter into BIOS setup.

Hope this helps!

Thanks got it, figured out why the boot disk wasnt working, had some bad sectors in it. I got everything up and running yet my modem wont work. I need to install the drivers. I downloaded the right drivers for the device but for some mysterious reason the modem says its unable to locate a driver.

It has Diamond on the modem itself along with

Conexant
Rh56D-12
R6795-12
881037-5

I downloaded apparently the right program and it came with an install program. I run the install program but nothing happens, I still have the yellow question mark in device manager. Is it possible this modem has to be running in Windows 98 SE? Or is there something else Im missing?

Did you try highliting the modem in device mgr. clicking properties and installing a new driver? If you did you didn't say.. Could also try [installing new hardware] program.. I have an AOpen modem and it will not install it's self from the disk, I have to do it manualy, Hope this helps...jackha

Yup tried that already, sorry for not mentioning, anyone else have any suggestions?

Device manager look for conflict on a serial port. If the serial port has a yellow exclamation mark reinstall the drivers for the port and when it looks for the drivers point it to the modem drivers. If that was the problem, when it finishes installing the port it will find and set up the modem itself.
