I am VERY new at using ACCESS and am trying to build my first data-base...it is very simple where I am tracking tasks for a project. The problem I have run into is that when I go into my form and enter records I can only go back to the records I have entered during this session. So, when I need to go back to my form and change it from open to complete, the only way I can access my information is through the table. So, I guess my question is how to do I attach the records to the form so that I can scroll through all the records in the table?

Any help would be appreciated!

my guess is the form is set for data entry! just right click on the form and say remove filter this will show all records

First of all. Do you have a table for your data to go into?
If so then ...
Create your new forms from now on like this.
Click the Tables TAB and highlight the table you want to enter or edit data.
Then click "Insert" menu then "Autoform"
It will create form in seconds that is already connected to your data source.

Next open you new form in Design view
Click the "View" menu then make sure the "ToolBox" is on.
Hold your mouse over the toolbar on each item for a second it will show you the type of items you can add.
Make sure the "Wizard" button is depressed (button with wand and fairy dust)
Add a "Command Button"
in the "Categories" list pick "Record Operations"
In the "Actions" list pick "Add New Record"
Follow the prompts to "Finish"
Then you will have a button on your form
Next view your form. Click "View" menu then "Form View"
click your new Add Record button and key in your data
When you are done Click Add new again and add the next record and so on.
Now your data is going in your table.

Next lesson how to find your data with a query.

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.
