Your point about WMI being disabled is a good one and the FAQ has been amended accordingly.

For those admins who love to 'tinker', (I have a less delicate word for that ), with systems

Windows Management Instrumentation Service

Provides a common interface and object model to access management information about operating systems, devices, applications and services.

If this service is stopped, most Windows-based software will not function properly.

If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will start to fail.

See one source of the quote here, note the real world description,

If you don't want your computer to work, set this to Disabled.

and one effect of disabling WMI here from Microsoft.
