I remember I once saw something on encrypting data
(just encoding and not vise verse) by using a foxpro
function but I didn't recorded it down (my fault). If
I am not wrong it seems to be SYS( ???? ). Can anyone
please told me how to do or where to find the info?? Thanks
in advance. Also I am still having problem in learning
OOPs for migrating from 2.0 to VPF6.0 Can anybody
suggest some good material for learning such

You may be referring to SYS(2007, chrexp) which will give you the checksum of the expression. Ramani has a FAQ here which shows how to use this to encrypt passwords. The major problem is that it only returns an integer so that it's easy to come up with another character expression which will mimic the actual password, even though it won't be the correct one. But there may be ways to correct for this.

The SYS(15) function can be used to encrypt data. I've used it to convert passwords to the 'high 128' characters of the ASCII symbol set. If you can't figure it out from the help file, let me know your e-mail address and I'll send you some sample code.
