hello
just installed exch03 over weekend. Trying to setup a mail enabled public folder - having no luck testing receiving outside mail into it
i get a bounce back with "does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 No such user - psmtp"

anonymous has: contributor client permissions

full control directory permissions (just for testing)
<but what permissions does it need?>

i read an older thread that said setup /domainprep needs to be run to set certain permissions.....

can someone give some help with this?configured correctly?
thank you

If you didn't run
setup /forestprep
setup /domainprep
BEFORE you installed Exchange, you might have a whole BUNCH of problems.

If you've verified that the PF has an email address, then Contributor rights should be all you need for Anonymous (from the Internet). For users in your environment, make sure Default has at least Contributor rights as well.

thx for reply sniper
i ran both from the deployment tools
how do i verify?

everything seems to be working fine - no errors in event logs - clean!

what default are you referring to for the users?

If you want your users to be able to send to the PF, then you adjust the Default permissions on the PF, or assign explicit rights to the users.

Anonymous only covers access by Internet.
