Using Office XP - Outlook

In Outlook, when saving emails with attachments the default save as format type is txt or html. When the email is saved in txt or html format the attachment is no longer accessible. Is there any way to default the save as format type to msg or message format, which keeps the attachment?

Changing the format type to msg each time gets a little monotonous.

This was an issue in Office 2000 Outlook as well.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

NO, save MESSAGE like it says, saves the MESSAGE, to save the attachment, you HAVE to use Save Attachmnent.

If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, excpect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.

Yes, but is there a one step process of saving the email message and the attachments?

Thanks for your response.

The easiest one-step method for saving email messages in the .msg format with attachments is to simply drag the message from outlook to a directory in windows explorer.
