hi all,

i just installed the dst patch for exchange 2003 with sp1. i have windows
2003 with exchange 2003 sp1. i installed the exchange patch after doing the
windows patch. now, my problem is i find that some emails are now getting stuck in
the local delivery queue. it doesn't do it for all email actually it seems
like it's mostly email from aol.com with a few that are not from aol. i never
had this problem prior to the dst patch. is anybody having the same problem?
i also noticed that the carrier email usually from blackberry are getting
stuck also. please help..

AOL require reverse DNS to be configured and set up to deliver emails. Worth checking this

hi,

i don't have a problem sending email out to anything including aol. it's the incoming email that is the problem. for some reason, it's getting stuck in my local delivery queue.

thanks,
edwin

If you mean 'Daylight saving Patch' then avoid like the plague. We installed it on our server and when we rebooted the stores wouldn't mount at all. We had to roll back the patches to get the stores to mount again.

Have you tried rolling back the patch?

no. i think the problem may have been something to do with the store.exe file that was packaged with the patch. i'm actually on hold with microsoft right now to see what they have to say. if you uninstall the patch, that means you would have to deal with this every dst time change right? can you please let me know if when you uninstalled the patch if it rolled back to the old store.exe version?

thanks a lot!

I think the DST package included a new version of store.exe and this leads to problems documented by MS:

I unistalled but it didn't fix my problems. I would recommend uinstall though as it seems to create a number of problems all over the place...

do you have exchange sp2? it seems like some people are really having issues with the dst patch for exchange 2003 sp2 install..
i have exc 2003 sp1 so i'm not having the mounting problem because i guess it's a different version of store.exe. nevertheless, i'm still having the stuck email problem. i'm still on hold with MS but i think i know what they will say and that is upgrade to sp2. if i do it, i'll probably just skip the dst patch and just deal with it when the time changes. what about you, are you all set now with your problem?

i just got done talking to microsoft and i was right after all ( waited 3 hours on hold for this ), they told me to install SP2 and then talk to them if i have any problem. i hope this doesn't cause bigger problems...

So far, I have installed the update, then removed, then reinstalled the update, then installed the hotfix. Now I have removed the update but left the hotfix.
Still having trouble with outbound email.
they are queueing in the smtp connector. They do go eventually when I force connection, but not always, Sometimes I change from DNS to my smarthost and that sends them. sometimes I change it back and that sends them on their merry way.
If anyone knows or sees any hotfixers relating to this DST update can they please post a link.

Many thanks
