Email Link in IE opens 60+ IE windows

When two of our users click a standard email link on a webpage instead of opening a new email message it opens numerous blank Internet Explorer windows.

They both use Windows 2000 with Groupwise 5.5 and Internet Explorer 5.5 or 6.0. We have 60 other PC's with the same software combinations who do not seem to have the problem.

I was just hoping that someone may have an idea what causes this. I've looked on the web and not found anything and to be honest I'm stumped!!

Have you tried running any spyware killers like Spybot Search and Destroy?

Hadn't considered that. Thanks. I'll give that a try. Any other ideas to add in the meantime?

Check out the following registry key to see if your launch method to Groupwise for the mailto function is valid:
HKLM\software\classes\clsid\mailto\shell\open\command
