Email aliases will not work 1

My Domino mail server (5.0.8)
accepts mail for 3 domain types:

domain1.com
domain2.com
domain3.com

The person documents in the address book can use any one of these domains with no problem:

fred@domain1.com
lisa@domain2.com
sami@domain1.com
maye@domain3.com

My problem starts though if fred wants an alias email as well as his regular email address:

fred@domain1.com
fred@domain2.com

in order to give fred this email address I just add the address on a new line in his person document in the MAIL tab under "internet address:"

Sometimes his new alias will work and sometimes it won't.
I have to remove his new address from his person document, wait a few minutes and then retype it in until it starts receiving mail. It's almost as if it is not saving my changes to the server despite even waiting overnight.

My company how now purchased yet another domain name and they want all 150 mailboxes to have this domain. I now have a nightmare to get them all working.

Is there a cache to flush here?
Am I going wrong anywhere?
Does this version have issues with more than one email address?

Weird thing is I have just added the new domain onto my own account and it worked perfectly. I add it to a number of others and they fail.

Not sur eif this will work for you, as we are using 5.0.10. But I always add the alias under the "user name" on the basics tab. Press [enter] after each address.
