I received a word document that I need to modify. An excel object is embedded into the word document. The excel object only shows up as a link. I have to click on the link and it pops up so that I can edit the contents of the excel object. After I click back into the word document, it only shows a link. The contents of the excel object prints out fine, but I can't see it in my word document in table format. Does anyone know how I can change my settings so that I can view the excel object in table format when I am working on my word document?
Thanks

If all you're seeing is an Excel Icon, then that is a result of the the Excel sheet being inserted as an icon (see under Insert|Object|From file). I'm not sure you can do much about this except to open the embedded the Excel sheet, save it to a new file, delete the icon, then re-insert the new Excel sheet.

If you're seeing just an empty rectangle where the Excel sheet is, uncheck 'picture placeholders' under Tools|Options|View.

Cheers
