I changed my processor(from an athlon 1.2 to an unlocked 1.0, this involved removing and reseating my ELSA GLADIAC GeForce 2 MX (AGP) and removing and reseating the memory (2 x 256mb pc133 SDR SDRAM - from Crucial). I also had to take out the PSU (I only removed the ATX Power Suppy Cables - THE PSU is 300W). THe machine powered up (power went to the motherboard and I could hear the fan and all motherboard and front panel lights lit and think i can hear the HDDs starting) but did not boot and no signal to the monitor. Then put old athlon back in and still didn't boot. I have tested the memory and its fine, have tested spare memory in the machine to no avail. Any Suggestions?

I noticed this problem with some Athlons and certain MBs. If you hit the reset switch after the initial power on, it will sync with the monitor.

You must clear the CMOS after changing system components - this includes switching processors, or changing from a AGP to PCI video card and vice versa. Nate Gagne
