Whenever I try to install W2k Pro I get alot of trouble. During the install random files will not be copied to the hard drive because it claims that they are not valid Windows Images, they are though. I am sure that the problem is with the motherboard, ECS K7AMA, because I have seen other people have the same problem. I have installed Windows with all of the same components except on a different motherboard and all went well. But when I try to install on the ECS K7AMA I have problems. If there is any way that this issue can be fixed, I would like to know. Thank you for your help.

is that a clean installation ?

it looks like a Disk problem to me, but not sure,

It is a clean install. I formatted the hard drive and everything, even tried two different hard drives. The CD is fine because I have tested it on a different computer and it works just fine.

Tell me, **exactly how** you are installing it. Are you letting it AutoRun, or are you starting the install from the command line, etc.? Hope I was of some help...

I am letting it Autorun from the boot screen. It says press any key to boot from CD and I boot it up. So I am in the setup go to install, and through the steps to get to install. And during the install I get these errors on numerous files. Hope that explains the problem.

I have the same motherboard and have never had this problem. It sounds to me like either a HDD or memory problem. But you say you already checked the HDD. Check your memory cas latency and performance in the bios. Ultra and Ultra 2 can give problems. Also check that you are not using pc100 memory at 133Mhz. Other than that, I have no idea. I've had my share of problems with this motherboard, but they are all AGP related.

Hope you manage.
