In device manager i see that the ECP Printer Port drivers not installed but my printer prints fine. When I try to install the drivers there is no change.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Unless you are using the printer port for bidirectional communications I expect you will not require an ECP driver. Could be your printer will not (for example) report back how much ink it has left but if it is printing I should'nt loose sleep.
you can also change the LPT port settings on the PC, in the BIOS (setup screen - usually F2, DEL, etc before booting), from ECP to standard or bi-directional.
I disabled it and all workes including messages back from the printer. I forgot that it was a USB hookup so the ECP port would (should) have nothing to do with it.
