We finally got PRI in our CO and now are able to take advantage of our EC500. It works great but because we wanted to deliver a particular number on our outgoing calls and that same ISDN trunk is our EC500 trunk, we do not see the actual number on the cell phone when receiving a call from an inside extension. I would like to find a way to receive this number instead of our published number. NX01, in a different thread had mentioned setting up a trunk just for the EC500 calls. Is there a way to do this without having to steal any of my 24 ports off my existing ISDN trunk such as a virtual trunk??

Thanks.

Just add your cell phone in the ARS table, and then change the public ISDN settings for your station and send caller-id.

Hope this helps,
CJH

Can you explain how to do this and what this does for me in a little more detail? My cell phone # is in the ARS table but I'm not sure how to change the public ISDN settings for my station.

Thanks.

depending on version you may have to change isdn public-unknown formating or change public.

It will look something like this:

Ext Ext Trk CPN CPN Ext Ext Trk CPN CPN
Len Code Grp(s) Prefix Len Len Code Grp(s) Prefix Len

4 2168 504845 10

You would then enter your extension and prefix your area code and local exchange. You can modify the prefix column to send any number out you'd like. Give it a try.

Hope this helps,
CJH

Here's my existing isdn public-unknown-numbering:
Ext Ext Trk CPN CPN
Len Code Grp(s) Prefix Len

4 2 10 8706982300 10

This works fine for all of our regular calls but I want it to show the actual number in the case it is an EC500 call.

I don't want to show a specific number but the actual extension number that is dialing me.

I hope I am explaining this clearly.

Thanks again.

If I understand you correctly, if extension 1234 calls your internal extension, and you have EC500 activated, you want to see "1234" on your inbound caller ID on your cell phone, instead of the "123-456-7890"

In v1.3, at least, this depends on the capabilities of your cell provider. According to the EC500 admin manual, "Some cellular phone networks only pass calling number information in the national format, while others are more flexible."

I hope this makes sense/helps.

You can send just the ext in the xmobile configuration set. Change network to pbx under "Calling Number Style: network"

In the future everything will work...

I'm not too concerned with the format really. I just want to find a way so that extension calls outbound on this PRI trunk shows the regular published number of 123-456-7890 but if an inside extension calls an EC500 extension 1234 the cell phone would display 1234 in some way so that you have some idea of who it is. So far, because of the setting in my isdn public-unknown-numbering setting, the ONLY number it will display is 123-456-7890 for an inside extension call. Outside calls display the callerID correctly. I just don't know how to go about getting outbound calls and EC500 calls to simultaneously show correctly on the same trunk. I think this is why NX01 in a seperate thread mentioned setting up another trunk just for EC500 calls. Then you could setup the ISDN public for those calls seperate of normal outbound calls.

I also set the xmobile stations to only use the unblocked trunk.

In the future everything will work...
