This is my first foray in PC building. I've got a good deal of money saved up and plan to use it on building a workstation for video editing. After reviewing several cases with both ATX and EATX form factors I found an ideal ATX case. (MGE Quantum)

I also want the Tyan Thunder K8WE as my mobo, because it's sporting dual CPU/ dual GPU. That's perfect for what I need, but I lack the savvy to know whether it will 'fit' into an ATX
case, being that its form is EATX. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Tyan Thunder K8WE motherboard is going to be about 12" wide across the back (keyboard, mouse, port connectors etc), and about 13" deep. This 13" depth requires 4 rows of mounts, whereas the small motherboards require only 3 or sometimes even 2. A look at pictures of this case on the web seem to indicate that a fourth row of mounting holes is available, so I'd guess this board will fit the case ok. However, you should contact the manufacturer to be 100% sure before spending your hard earned dosh...

I would just add, yes, it looks like it will fit but you might only be able to fit CDrom devices in the top two bays because of interferance with the motherboard.

LiteOn make some "short CDwriters/DVD players" that may clear if needed.
