Do you mean from a router? If so then you just issue the "ping" command and then hit enter. It will prompt you for all the information and one of the options is repeat count, that is where you would set it.

If you mean for windows then it is "ping -n 10000" and then enter.

Let me know if this helps.

sorry, for the Windows one you need to add the destination address after the 10000. So it would look like:

ping -n 100000 1.1.1.1 where 1.1.1.1 is the IP you are trying to ping.

This is from a router. If I only type ping with nothing else, it errors as an incomplete command. If I do a Ping ?,
the switches are WORD, ip and tag. I've tried the ? after the command, but it tells me it is complete. I swear there is a way to specify the packet count, I just can't remember it....

Thanks,

What kind of router and what IOS is it? Also, are you in Privileged mode (is there a # at the end of your prompt name) or are you in non-privileged mode (has a > at the end of your prompt name)? I know that in non-privileged mode you can't do an "extended" ping like the one you want just due to security risks (anyone being able to login and start a DOS..hahah).
