So when an elephant dies, it falls over and the impact throws the planet out of whack, or am I being too picky?

Sit and spin, in your office chair, now extend your legs straight out. Your spinning slows. This suggests that if you move weight away from the center of a spinning body, the rate of the spinning slows. By moving weight (ore) away from the center (relatively) of the Earth, we must be slowing the rate of spin. This must be the cause of Global Warming.

It was 37 in Philadelphia this morning - what Global Warming? When? Where? Compare to what if last year it was much warmer on 25th of October?

Ok, if anyone tries out Gooser's theory with the office chair, please video it and post it on a website, and give us a link to watch, by all means! After all, it's all for laughs, or, er, um, scientific research! [wink]

I could imagine the looks at my office, if I were twirling in my chair. [grin]

Hmm, not something that strikes me as hugely odd, though sticking your legs out does take the fun out of it, you can spin far longer if you tuck them in (more evidence for the theory).

I've really got something here.

I should apply for a grant.

Can I be your research assistant then? I'm also quite good at scooting, should your work develop on from spinning!

Oh, and then we can move on to study the homosexual mating habits of pigeons. Oh, no, sorry that one's been done.

Or, maybe we can study why when a bug hits the windshield of a moving vehicle, it goes *SPLAT!* Has that one been done?

[LOL]

All in all, and without wanting to be controversial, 'homosexual' and 'mating' seem to me oxymorons or at least mutually exclusive (here we go again...)

Please, let's not stray too far into the weeds. This is a language forum.
