I have recently re-installed Outlook 2000 SP1 on a new installation of WIN2KPro. Using MS Exchange 5.5 SP3.

When I try to log on to the Exchange Server I get error message
MS Exchange Address Book unable to logon onto the MS Exchange Server Computer.
I am able to logon to this mail account from other W/S when logging on as both Administrator and User.

Any pointer please

Here's something I always try, right click on the outlook icon and goto properties, go into the exchange server connection properties and then click on advanced, and select none for authentication. (this is in outlook not the exchange server) Then try and logon. IT should prompt you for the username/password/domain if you enter everything and it logs in fine then the computer is probably on another domain or the nt account that the user is logging in with to that computer is different.

Thanks for the tip.
However it did not work. I did not get the logon for username etc., it just repeated the same error message that the Address book could not find the Exchange Server and took me to the properties page and asked for the Exchange Server name and Mailbox.

Further to my last, if it is of any help.
I cannot create or logon to any mailbox from this workstation even when I sign on as administrator. Yet I am able to access this mailbox from other workstations.

I have not come across this before so I do not know if it is an Exchange/Outlook or WIN2K setup problem.

I solved my problem by uninstalling the TCP/IP Protocol and then re-installing it.

Simple when u know how!
