Hi all,
What would I do without this band of knowledgeable people ?
Using Google, in Preferences, selecting, "Open search results in new browser window", just produces a browser shell with an empty address bar and going nowhere. Clicking 'Stop' then 'Refresh' fills in the empty address bar and the page loads normally.
Not just Google, other sites with embedded Hyperlinks refuse to download, including the new windows update site.
In Outlook Express clicking on the Hyperlink on an inbox mail also produces an frame with an empty address bar.
I have tried everything I can think of .... Re-installing IE6 / Re-installing Windows / looking at all the browser options I can think of, etc.
My only recent activity was to download the new KAzaa Lite, though its hard to know if this has any bearing on the problem.
I am running W98SE / AVG anti virus / Outpost Firewall.
I recently had a Floppy borne virus my daughter brought home from school ! ( VBS Redlof ), This seemed to stay on the floppy and the virus scan says all clear.
I would much appreciate any clues or ideas on this problem as surfing is now a very dysfunctional experience !
Thanks.
Norman.
