Any suggestions on a reporting application I can use to make dynamic web reporting? I want to be able to run SQL upon entering the page and displaying data. Dynamic because they can change the parameters of the query as they see fit and the report will refresh.

Thanks!!

Just a comment that may be of some help.

The basic request seems to be to provide data the way the user wants, allowing selection and sorting criteria to be altered as the user wishes.

There are many ways to be dynamic, and you may wish to consider some new ones combined with some old ones, like:

- combine a dynamic page refresh from the server with further dynamic actions at the client without bothering the server. Your user could "fine tune" a canned report with data stored in an array by selecting or sorting as he/she sees fit.

- set up a form on the page that the users fills in (perhaps with select options dynamically provided to suit the data of current interest), and use the form submit to gather search values to plug into your next SQL statement on the server.

- if you limit yourself to IE4+, There are some powerful techniques described at microsoft's site re Data Source Objects - - DSO - - they can combine server-side and client-side dynamics and sophsticated data access

I use oodles of client-side dynamics, anmd have several pages that require no server data base but act as if they did as they build a report.
