Hi,

I have recently taken over the responsibility for reporting using Crystal for my Organisation. We have a large number of reports which use customer parameters, our customer list is constantly being amended.

I was informed by the person that previously looked after reporting that the if customer list changed in our database the parameters in the Crystal report would need to be manually updated using the Set Default Values option. I cannot believe this is true, as it causes a massive overhead to maintain reports.

So basically all I need is when the database values change the crystal report menu option will automatically be updated.

Thanks

Phil

Bad news. That is true. Crystal Parameters are static.
To get a dynamic parametr list you have to use VB and write a your own front end program. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Phil,

I'm about to release an inexpensive Crystal viewer (~$25) that addresses exactly this issue. The only requirement is that for each parameter you wish to make "Dynamic" you need to create another Crystal report that supplies that data.

Please contact me if you wish to test it.

Cheers,
